What is SHOP Local?
SHOP Local is an exciting new program that allows you to earn cashback on your local purchases like eating out at your favorite restaurant or shopping at your favorite local store. The program is new and is constantly growing so check back often to see what’s new. Sign-up to receive email alerts when new merchants are added for your zipcode or cities that you are traveling to in the future.


SHOP Local is part of the SHOP.COM mobile app. Download the SHOP.COM mobile app today for iOS or Android and take SHOP Local with you and get notifications of local businesses in your area where you can earn cashback.


What is a cashback Reward?


You earn Cashback from your SHOP Local transactions. Once you have been awarded Cashback you can use it to purchase products on SHOP.COM OR wait until you have accrued a $10 Cashback balance to request the amount via direct deposit to your account or request a check that will be mailed to you.
Does it cost anything to participate?
It’s totally FREE! Merchants and Restaurants will never charge you anything to participate.

Create an Account on SHOP.COM, link your credit / debit cards*, explore offers, visit a participating merchant or restaurant listed, pay with a registered credit / debit card* and earn cashback**.

Which types of Debit / Credit Cards can I sign-up with*?

Currently you can register the following credit/debit cards*:


  • Visa***
  • MasterCard
  • American Express

Please keep in mind that all merchants and restaurants do not accept all credit/debit cards. To ensure you have a great SHOP Local experience please check the merchants offer page to see what credit/debit cards are accepted.

***Not all Visa cards are eligible for this Program. Without limitation, Visa Buxx, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Visa cards, EBT Visa cards and other Visa-branded cards whose transactions are not processed through the Visa U.S.A. payment system are not eligible to participate.

Why can’t I use my Discover Card?
At this time Discover Card is not accepted as part of the SHOP Local program. We are working to add Discover Card.
How many credit / debit cards can I link?
You’ll want to register all your cards to make sure you don't miss out on any cashback, so go ahead and register as many cards as you like as there is no limit!
What happens if my credit card expires or gets cancelled?

The good news is, if your new updated card has the same number as your old cancelled card, there is no need to update it. Even if it has a different expiration number, we will still be able to track your purchases.


If your card has a new number please follow the instructions below to update your information:


Login into your SHOP.COM account and go to SHOP Local and click Manage My Cards.


Select the card number that is no longer valid and Delete it.


Add the new card number to your list of linked cards.*


* Your new card number must be registered in order to be eligible to receive cashback before the purchase is made.

Why do you need my card details?

By securely registering your debit or credit cards, we are able to track your transactions at our participating merchants and restaurants. We do this in association with Visa, MasterCard and American Express. After the transaction occurs, the card provider notifies us of the purchase amount and we credit your SHOP.COM account with cashback if the purchase qualifies for cashback.*

How much Cashback can I get?

Make sure that you’re using a card type that is accepted by the merchant, that qualifies for cashback and is linked to your account.*


To see how much cashback is being given at a particular merchant’s location during the time of your visit, please check the merchants offer page in SHOP Local. You will be able to view a breakdown of cashback percentages based on time of day. Please note some merchants offer the same rate all day and some do not.


What you need to know:


  • Earning cashback is quick and easy
  • The amount you earn is determined at the time your card is swiped by the Merchant when you PAY your bill
  • The BEST offers are listed FIRST in the results
  • The cashback awarded is based off your subtotaled bill excluding tips and sales tax.

*Credit cards and debit cards must be linked in your SHOP Local account before a transaction occurs.

Can I order through a delivery service or order online?

Any third party ordering services and delivery companies (for example: Square, Grubhub, Eat24, ChowNow, Groupon, Clover, Postmates etc.) are not eligible for cashback through SHOP Local . The purchase must be made through the merchants’ credit card machine.


Note: Most restaurants use external resources to facilitate the online ordering. If you place your order online you will not earn cashback. Purchases must be made through the merchants’ (restaurants) credit card machine.


Below are examples of what you would see on your bank statement if you used a third-party service. SHOP.COM does not track transactions on third party delivery or order services and these transactions are not eligible for cashback.

Where can I view my cashback history for my SHOP Local transactions?

You can view cashback rewards in My Account on SHOP.COM.

Is there an earnings limit per transaction?
The maximum cashback you can earn in a day per merchant is $250.00.
Will I earn cashback if I linked my card after the transaction took place?
No. Cashback will not be rewarded for transactions where the card used was not linked before the transaction took place.
My account is missing cashback for a transaction!

Help us help you! Was the credit card / debit card used linked to your account prior to the transaction? In some cases we have found that the following has occurred:


Credit Card / Debit Card number used was not linked to the account prior to the transaction


Ex: A restaurant only accepts Visa and MasterCard but the AMEX card is the only card linked for you in SHOP Local


Linked card used expired and got issued a new card number prior to the transaction


Linked card cancelled prior to the transaction


Debit card used and a PIN was entered. Transactions must be processed as a credit card. Any transaction requiring a PIN is not eligible for cashback.


Was a third party order or delivery service used? All transactions must go through the merchants’ credit card machine. Many external ordering and delivery services are not using the merchants’ credit card machine and are not eligible to receive cashback.


If the card you used was not linked in SHOP Local prior to the transaction being made, the transaction unfortunately cannot be recorded and you will not earn cashback on the transaction.


If the card you used was linked in SHOP Local prior to the transaction being made, the transaction is not showing in your SHOP.COM account and its been 10 days, please contact us as soon as possible at Customer Service.


It’s important to have a receipt or credit card processing information from the merchant to ensure a linked / registered card was used as well as the email address you use for your SHOP.COM account.


Transactions more than 30 days old cannot be credited and will not be awarded cashback.

How long does it take for a purchase to show-up in My Account?

Your purchases will show-up as Pending for Cashback within 10 days if eligible.

Why is cashback awarded / earned not exactly the percentage of the offer?

When cashback is calculated, you get a percentage of cashback based on your sub-totaled bill for SHOP Local program only, excluding tips and taxes. This is done by subtracting an estimated tax (whether it was charged or not) and average tip from the merchant or restaurant where you used your card. If you tipped more or less than the average tip size, you may get slightly more or less than the percentage offered at the merchant or restaurant location. If you believe a transaction is missing from the cashback rewards, please contact us at Customer Service and include the transaction date, merchant or restaurant name and your SHOP.COM email address. Transactions more than 30 days old will not be eligible for cashback.


Note: Double check the cashback amount available for the time your card was swiped when paying your bill. To do this look at the merchants offer page in SHOP Local to determine the cashback amount offered at the time your card was swiped when paying your bill.*


*Cashback will be determined by whatever offer each Merchant is offering at the time your card is swiped when you are paying your bill. You can see the offer available at the time of your purchase by checking the Merchant’s offer in SHOP Local.

I purchased a gift card at a restaurant, but my cashback is not correct!

If you purchased a gift card at a restaurant, please note that our system does not differentiate between a gift card (not taxed) and the purchase of food.

How do I unsubscribe from SHOP Local emails?
In the SHOP Local emails you receive, click on unsubscribe in the bottom of the email to opt-out of the emails.
I went to the Mogl website, but cannot login to see my account?

SHOP.COM works in partnership with Mogl, but your account and cashback rewards are tracked on SHOP.COM.


Please login on SHOP.COM and go to My Account > Cashback Rewards to see your account.

How do I deactivate my account?

If you choose to stop participating in the SHOP Local program, go to your SHOP Local card linked page and delete each card. If you decide you would like to participate in the future, you simply need to link a credit/debit card.

How do I get Cashback Notifications from SHOP Local?

We currently support two types of messaging for SHOP Local transactions.


1. Text Messages to your phone – If you are not using the SHOP.COM mobile app and want to receive a text message letting you know that you have earned cashback at a local business, first Login to SHOP.COM and click the SHOP Local link in header area of the site. Now on the SHOP Local page, click Manage My Card and locate the Manage Mobile Alerts. Enter in your cell phone number and ensure that the box is checked for opting-in to receive text messages and hit submit.


2. Push Notifications on your cell phone – In order to receive Push Notifications on your cell phone please ensure that you have the SHOP.COM mobile app downloaded. Once it's downloaded, under the left navigation identified by three bars select SHOP Local. In SHOP Local ensure that the “Notify me when I’m near SHOP Local venues” button is showing green for On.
